Groom

So much time is dedicated to the bride, but it is important to remember it is the groom’s day also, so we like to make sure the groom’s flowers are just as special.  The groom’s corsage should be a miniature version of the floral theme, generally reflecting the bride’s bouquet. Normally this is a rose, with the same colour as the bridal foliage,  and the colour of the wedding theme incorporated in. These flowers can vary as it depends on the bridal party flowers.  Another useful tip for the groom is a reminder that traditionally, the groom sends a special floral tribute to his bride-to-be on the morning of the wedding.

Bridesmaids

When choosing flowers for your bridesmaids,  it is always best to bring a sample of the material to your florist, or a clear and close-up photograph of the dress.  The florist can then advise you as to what she thinks will complement the dress best, and work well with the theme for your wedding. The bridesmaid’s flowers should enhance the bride’s bouquet and let the natural flow of the flowers run through the whole bridal party.

Wedding Morning

Tips to remember on your special day when your flowers arrive:

1. Always check that all your flowers have been delivered.
2. The florist should take time to show you how to carry your bouquet.
3. Always make sure that there are pins in the buttonholes and corsages
4. Keep the flowers in a room that is not busy on your wedding day and dont let anyone handle them as flowers are delicate and can bruise easily from over handling.
5. For the groom it is traditional for the goom to send flowers to his bride to be on the morning of the wedding.

Venue

The Venue:
The days of just plonking a few carnations on the table of the hotel are thankfully long gone.  These days, there is thought and consideration placed on the flowers for the hotel, which are just as important as the church flowers.  Lots of hotels now offer Lilies in tall vases on the tables,  but if you would like something a bit more special,  speak to your florist as there are a wide range of flowers that we can suggest,  you can even double up from the church, and use some of the outer flowers like the pots from outside the church.
Candles are also very nice as table arrangements and will illuminate the room as the evening wears on, making the venue look very romantic. By organising you own flowers for the venue you can carry on the theme of your wedding and make it unique and special to you.
Your florist will be able to advise you on all aspects of flowers for the venue, and work with your budget and ideas. .

Church

It is very important to spend time organising your flowers for the church. Remember all your guest will be waiting for you to arrive, and so your chosen flowers in the church will be making a statement.  Your florist will help you express your good wishes to your guests in the church by showing that your wedding flowers are very special to you , and your lovely floral displays in the church will be the first taste of your wedding that people will see.
I always recomend people to set the tone of the wedding by having flowers or decorated trees outside the church, as it is very welcoming.
Pew ends are also very beautiful as it leads the eye in a lovely linear flow all the way up to the altar where the main flowers are.
On the altar  itself, there are normally 3 arrangements,  one on each side of the altar and one in front, the coloursof the flowers are incorporated with the theme of your wedding.
The church is the one place you can go all out on flowers ,as the more you have the more welcoming it is.  An abundance of flowers in the church will bring joy,  and your  guests will be filled with a sense of celebration for the wedding to come.
